Things to do:
1) Complete the social studies SBQ Homework (Including Source E which we received today)
2) Those who have not submitted the AUP form, remember to get it signed and submit it tomorrow:

3) Write 3 things you know, or think you know about energy reactions
4) Those who have not attached the english stuffs into the english journal, please do so.
5) Sign the form for food donation drive on the 19th of January and submit it tomorrow. 
6) For HCL Students: for those who have not completed the holiday hw, complete it by tmr.

Things to remember:
1) The food donation drive is on the 19th of January:
- Those who are going directly there, report at 8am
- Those who are following the school there, report in school at 7am
2) Math file check is on monday in Week 9, so please remember to file everything in by then and bring your file on that day. You are supposed to receive a template of the cover page for the math file, and arrange all worksheets in chronological order(most recent at the front)
3) Chemistry Diagnostic test is TOMORROW, so please prepare for it
4) Chemistry Practical is in week 2

1) For HCL Students, O Level results for Normal Chinese will be released this Friday, so mentally prepare yourself :D. Those who get below B3 will be advised to drop to normal chinese.

Reasons for writing a letter of proposal:
When do you need to write a persuasive letter?
-Need to solicit money for projects, service learning trips or community project
- Need to make a claim
- To host certain events
- To invite distinguished speakers to your event

Elements of a persuasive letter
1) Subject - clear purpose (build up the audience confidence in the writer)
2) Introduction - the writer/organization (establish trust)
3) Background knowledge of the charity
4) Reasons or popular choice or socially acceptable actions
5) Information about the event/ beneficiaries

Elements of an effective formal persuasive letter
Skills needed:
1) Well-organized 
> Structure of paragraphs
> Appropriate connectors:
- However (to show contrast)
- Therefore-to (show consequence)
- With regards to (moving to a specific point)
2) Logical flow of events - information that is given to the reader flows in an orderly manner
3) Language
